The Edgware Primary School Superzone Scheme was a multi-faceted project for Barnet Council and Edgware Primary School involving movable growing and planter structures to facilitate growing workshops with school children led by GROW.
The planters are a series of movable timber ‘barrow’ structures at different heights that form planters, space for growing workshops - and tool storage. They are clad in a series of bespoke ceramic tiles, including a tile designed by the school children in a series of co-design workshops, and a ‘mix and match’ of tile offcuts from the manufacturer. A number of benches and stools made from reclaimed timber accompany the structures and can be stored in the barrow structures when not in use.
GROW are a local charity who work with schools and communities delivering bespoke programmes in sustainable food growing and outdoor learning. They ran a number of growing workshops with the school children and helped facilitate the creation of a gardening club at the school.

A strategy document produced by We Made That and Maddison Graphic for Kingston Council. Both an interactive digital PDF and printed document, it contains a ‘Make it Happen’ toolkit for the local community and stakeholders to deliver projects and find funding. Proposals range from small ‘quick wins’ such as delivering community activities, events and public artwork, to big or large-scale regeneration projects - which would significantly transform streets and public spaces in the town centre.
